DXing in Sheep Paddocks

Dave Headland just sent me some some photo’s of his antenna setup. He has been having some good dx from near Oamaru on the South Island New Zealand. Have a look at some of these Navtex logs and in particular the distances. Remember that this Navtex transmitters are often low powered.
Here’s a list of logs from the first 3 nights of logging. Sunset here is around 0515 UTC and sunrise is around 2015 and the first signals start to arrive at around 0700 from the USA with readable levels after 0730z. There were a lot of stations I haven’t included as they came up on the list as UNID but going through the messages revealed Vietnam, Malaysia, China, and several USA stations. I’ve duplicated some listings as the messages rolled over into the next hour and thought this may be of use for checking schedules.
